Career Goals
As a theatre educator, my goal to bring the wonders of theatre to my local children’s theatre organization. In my area, many students do not have fine arts programming within their school programming. The theatre group is an accessible way for the students to be involved in a mainstage production. As someone who is passionate about theatre, I hope to use her acquired knowledge in the MUW program to provide educational theatre programming in various ways, from acting, design, script analysis, theatre history, and more.
As a Gold-Certified Music Audiologist, I work with musicians, performing artists, and music industry professionals throughout the country. I educate and advocate for hearing wellness for all, in particular performing artists, since much of what they do including communication, pitch perception, rhythm, timbre, among other aspects relies on their sense of hearing.
My goal is to unite my passions of theatre and acoustics to provide accessibility to theatre for those with hearing loss and those that are in the Deaf community. I am inspired by theatre companies who incorporate American Sign Language (ASL) within their performances. I hope to educate theatre venues on the importance of closed-captioning, sensory friendly performances, and I am determined to be a lifelong learner in this area. I love networking with artists who share the vision of making theatre more accessible and inclusive.
